Geographic Information System (GIS)
A geographic information system (GIS) is
a computer-based system capable of assembling, storing,
manipulating, analyzing, managing and displaying both spatial
(geographic or land-referenced) and non-spatial (time referenced)
information. What distinguishes GIS from other information
systems is its ability to integrate common database operations
with geographic analysis and mapping, providing data
for expert management, analysis and decision-making.
Our GIS computing facilities are state of the art and fully
integrated to support a variety of engineering disciplines
and applications.

Cost Effective and Accurate Data
GIS relies on data input from a variety of sources, such
as subsurface utility
engineering (SUE), ground penetrating radar (GPR), global
positioning systems (GPS) and photogrammetry. Data such as
location of roads, utility lines, wetands, etc., is stored
as a collection of layers that can be stacked to get a true
picture of a particular location or to create a digital model
of the earth. Quicker and more efficient than manual methods,
GIS’s digital data can be manipulated a variety of
ways and stored on disk, eliminating paper maps and charts.
Our highly trained GIS consultants are experienced in data
integration and evaluation, and provide cost-effective, highly
accurate GIS solutions to meet data management needs such
as:
Asset Management
Environmental Planning and Engineering
Feasibility and Cost/Benefit Studies
Hydraulic and Hydrologic Modeling
Map Production
Municipal Planning and Engineering
Needs Assessment
Site Development
Subsurface Utility Engineering and Utility Coordination
Transportation Planning and Engineering
Water Resource Management
Website Design
