Retired Airport Engineer Joins TBE Group, Inc. as Aviation Manager

CLEARWATER, FL – TBE Group, a full service civil/environmental engineering and consulting firm, is pleased to announce the appointment of Frank W. Aiello as Aviation Manager. Based in TBE’s Clearwater office, Aiello will be responsible for providing technical expertise on aviation projects and promoting TBE’s aviation services to airports in Florida.
Aiello joins TBE after retiring from the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport which is owned and operated by Pinellas County. Aiello served 30 years with the County and Airport. As Airport Engineer, Aiello was responsible for administration and management of a variety of aviation design, permitting and construction projects. His works spans a variety of civil and environmental disciplines and has included airside, terminal, landside and master planning projects.
Aiello’s airside experience includes runway extensions, runway lighting, fueling systems, aircraft hangers, aircraft rescue fire fighting facilities, automated flight service stations and several environmental assessments. Terminal project experience includes lobby renovations, departure terminal expansions, roofing projects, TSA baggage claim areas, and security access control systems. Aiello has completed airport landside projects for controlled access parking lots, industrial parks, roadway improvements, shoreline restoration, drainage ponds, and revenue-producing property development. His master plan experience includes airport master plans, drainage master plans, and landside development master plans.
Prior to working directly for the St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport, Aiello managed professional engineering consultant agreements for the Pinellas County Public Works Design Division. Out of the many projects that he coordinated were McMullen Booth Road, Tampa Road and the award-winning Pinellas Trail railroad bed conversion to a recreational trail.
